Looking for a Niche

Posted on 23. Apr, 2019 by in Blog

In 2005, I began to realise, after several years of general coaching practice, that many of my clients wanted to consider a change in career direction and that, despite my best efforts I struggled to help them over the finishing line, saboteurs managed, and practical steps in-hand, towards a new future at work. I found my answer when I trained as a Firework coach. The day after the intensive I started to claim one of my niches as a ‘career coach’ and haven’t regretted it for a second. I felt so much more confident and equipped to guide my clients as I coached them into a career transition. So much so, that in 2010 I started to train the programme myself with the wonderful Michelle Bayley, also an experienced CTI and Firework coach. So, if you’d like to work with clients on career change, but feel you want something extra to add to your coaching toolkit,  the Firework Career Coaching Programme gives you what you need. Co-created by two coaches, it’s a powerful framework and set of tools which also offers ICF CCE’s.
The next Firework Training Day will take place 4 June 2019 – to register your interest email us at bookings@fireworkcoaching.com

The programme runs over six months. The key events include:

  • An interactive training day in London
  • Two quarterly follow-up group mentoring calls to give you support on maximising the benefit of Firework in your coaching practice
  • Two optional online masterclasses, run by experienced Firework coaches, designed to help you confidently source a consistent set of clients for your career coaching practice

The programme will also provide you with:

  • A licence to use the programme with your clients, together with a badge to use on your website and materials
  • A detailed career coach’s manual and complete set of online white-labelled client materials ready for use with your clients
  • Access to all ongoing updates to the programme and materials
  • 11 ICF Continuing Coach Education Credits (CCEUs) for attending the training
  • Membership of the Licensed Firework Coaches LinkedIn community

This is an advanced programme for existing coaches

Here’s what one co-active coach has to say about Firework:

“I have discovered the most amazing resource. What I found unique about this toolkit is its flexibility. It allows you to build onyour original coaching skills and gives you an impactful array of strategies which you can use with your clients, helping them find meaningful careers. I found this course to be great value for money, considering the wealth of resources you get to take away. The location of the course was fantastic, and the resourceful and knowledgeable course presenters make the course engaging and an excellent investment. It was definitely time well spent. I would strongly recommend this course to any coach hoping to add to their portfolio.” Christine Alexander Smith, The Diversity Coaching Initiative

Firework’s reputation as a quality brand has grown over the years. We have trained and licensed Firework coaches in London, Brighton, Glasgow, Dublin and Chicago and Helsinki. In addition to the licence and CCE’s, the benefits of becoming a licensed Firework career coach include:

(a) Gaining a unique and powerful set of tried and tested tools which give you the confidence to work with both clients facing a major career crossroads and those who may simply want to take stock of their career and perhaps stay in their existing field.
(b) Equipping yourself to offer your services to a large pool of people. Research shows that up to 75% of people are unhappy in their work, making career coaching a sought after service, particularly as restructuring and redundancies continue.
(c) Advice on promotion in a follow up teleclass and a listing as a Firework Licensed Career coach on the Firework website.

For a New Beginning

For a New Beginning

In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.

It watched you play with the seduction of safety,
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.

Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.

Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life’s desire.

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

Exciting Times

It’s a beautiful Spring Saturday and I’m at my desk reveiwing the lastest email posting about the Career Coaching Training I’ll be delivering in June …June 17/18th to be exact! What makes this different from the others though is that this will be the first one I’ll have taken to Spain. Sunny Barcelona here we come!

So I’m learning to lean in heavily to experts, friends and colleagues to help me create the materials in Spanish (which I don’t really speak yet, certainly not enough to do translate), let the Spanish coaching community know it’s coming at last, and liaise with the particpants and hotel (on the waterfront in Barcelona – wonderful!)

What an exciting challenge!! More later…..

A New Day Dawning

Posted on 16. Dec, 2009 by in Blog

I’m watching the dawn this morning, observing  the two ‘tiers’ of grey cloud followed beneath by an emerging rosy hue As I explore this as a metaphor, I find myself wondering about where in our lives today might we each move more consciously from the grey clouds to the rosy hue, even if just briefly; to experience again the lighter, brighter side of life and our relationships.

There are several recognised ‘toxins’ to relationships which, if present a lot over time can erode the postivity and optimism that was present when the relationship first formed. One of those is blaming. I wonder how it might be not to blame another…for anything? Not to point the finger, condemn or fault anyone else, just for one day? And what might be possible if we include ourselves in that too – not to blame, fault or condemn ouselves either?

What if that day is today?

Welcome to my new blog!

As a professional coach I regularly work with people who come to me to focus their attention on one of two crucial  areas of their lives:watch Half Girlfriend 2017 movie online now

• improving relationships in their lives, at work and/or at home. That might be a desire to improve communication in a personal partnership, handling a challenging peer or difficult manager or creating better team performance.watch full movie Baahubali 2: The Conclusion 2017

• exploring their career path and professional  development and even evaluate new career options.watch The Promise 2017 movie now

Of course, some people want to be coached on more than one of these.

So if that this sounds like it might be you, coaching might be the next step for you. I work with clients on the phone or face to face in my London office so please call or email me to arrange a no-obligation discussion about what you’re looking for and to see whether I’m the best coach for you..
